The Chief Constable of Staffordshire informs me that 57 drivers were prosecuted, 6 given written warnings, and an estimated 400 given oral warnings for this offence in respect of commercial vehicles of 30 cwt. or more driven on the stretch of the M6 motorway in the 250W area for which he is responsible. The other police authorities concerned do not keep separate figures for the motorway.
