HC Deb 25 July 1966 vol 732 cc174-5W
Mr. Carlisle

asked the Prime Minister what schemes for the provision of additional office space for Government Departments are being deferred.

Mr. Prentice

I have been asked to reply to this Question.

The cuts in expenditure have inevitably affected the whole of the Department's investment programme and detailed discussions on the implementation of these cuts are still being held with the interested parties. Details will be given as soon as possible.

Mr. Carlisle

asked the Prime Minister how many projects for the provision of additional office space for Government Departments will now require an office development project.

Mr. Prentice

I have been asked to reply to this Question.

Government office schemes do not require office development permits but the office control is applied to them by administrative arrangement. The application to individual projects in the new circumstances is being examined.

Mr. Carlisle

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works what is the total amount of additional office space provided for Ministry offices since October, 1964.

Mr. Prentice

I refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave on 5th July to the hon. Member for Southgate (Mr. Berry).
