HC Deb 25 July 1966 vol 732 cc209-10W
Sir Knox Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will approach the authorities of Antigua and ask them to give further consideration to the incorporation into their legal system of the terms of the Merchant Shipping (Liability of Shipowners and Others) Act 1958, in order that the people of Antigua may enjoy the same rights and benefits as have existed in the United Kingdom and many Commonwealth territories during the past eight years; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Frederick Lee

The Government of Antigua has been consulted and does not wish the International Convention of 1957 relating to the Limitation of the Liability of Owners of sea-going ships to be extended to the territory.
