HC Deb 25 July 1966 vol 732 cc208-9W
Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many tenancies of agricultural land in England and Wales were terminated in the 12 months ended 31st December, 1965 by notice to quit served upon the grounds of death of the original tenants.

Mr. John Mackie

Landlords are not required to notify the Department when they serve notice to quit on the death of their tenants, and I therefore have no means of knowing how many tenancies are terminated in this way.

Imports as proportion of total met supplied Value (c.i.f.) £ million
Fresh Preserved Total Fresh Preserved Total
1963 16% 5% 21% 19.1 30.4 49.5

1965 18% 6% 24% 27.1 39.6 66.7

The cost of imports in terms of foreign currency is not known.
