§ Mr. Edward ShortI do not regard the profile as insignificant; the design was selected in the usual way on the advice of my Stamp Advisory Committee.
The printers name together with that of the designer, where appropriate, has been shown in the margin of special-issue stamps since last October with the aim of attracting overseas orders for stamp printing and designing. No fee is paid.

§ Mr. Dan Jonesasked the Postmaster-General if he will announce details of the special stamps illustrating British technology, and of those to commemorate the Battle of Hastings.
§ Mr. Edward ShortThe Technology series will feature the Jodrell Bank radio-telescope, British motor engineering, the Hovercraft, and an advanced gas-cooled nuclear reactor; the issue date will now be 19th September.
The Battle of Hastings commemorative issue on 14th October will consist of a strip of six designs for the 4d. denomination, a 6d. stamp and a treble-sized ls. 3d. stamp. All these stamps will depict scenes from the Bayeux Tapestry.
