HC Deb 22 July 1966 vol 732 c164W
Lord Balniel

asked the Minister of Transport how many inspectors have been working at London Airport during the period of the seamen's strike taking down details of vehicles delivering goods to London Airport and checking whether there has been any infringement of their licences in delivering goods at that location; and how many man-hours have been spent in making such checks and in following up the results of such checks.

Mr. Swingler

My right hon. Friend is informed by the Licensing Authority for the Metropolitan Traffic Area, who is responsible for the administration of the carriers' licensing system in that Area, that so far as he is aware no examiners were engaged in checking vehicles for licensing infringements at London Airport during the period of the seamen's strike.
