HC Deb 21 July 1966 vol 732 c127W
Sir C. Osborne

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the inability of shipbuilders to give firm delivery dates because of absenteeism, inflexibility of labour and failure to adapt to new equipment, he will introduce legislation to bring about the necessary reforms in this industry.

Mr. Mason

The Report of the Shipbuilding Inquiry Committee proposed measures to be taken by both sides of the industry to make our shipyards more efficient. My right hon. Friend hopes to make a statement on this Report before the Recess.
