HC Deb 21 July 1966 vol 732 cc115-6W
35. Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what number and type of second- ary school places are reserved for deaf children; and where they are available.

Mr. Redhead

A total of 200 boarding places in a grammar school for the deaf and partially hearing in Berkshire and a technical school for the deaf in Surrey; 60 day places and 80 boarding places in secondary modern schools in London and Surrey respectively. Most other schools for the deaf provide for senior pupils, in some cases in separately organised departments.
