Mr. Burden

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will now advise the Flag Officer Medway of the conditions that will qualify dockyard workers for compensation for the loss or damage of their own property as a result of the fire at Chatham Dockyard on 12th July.

No. Sufficient guidance on handling claims is given in existing staff regulations. Exceptional cases are reported to the Ministry of Defence for consideration on their merits.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence, if he will publish when it is completed the Report of the Board of Inquiry into the fire at Chatham Dockyard on 12th July.
