HC Deb 21 July 1966 vol 732 cc137-8W
Mr. Woodnutt

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will give an estimate of how long it would take to value agricultural land and buildings exempted from rating; and if he will introduce legislation to enable the Inland Revenue to prepare valuation lists.

Mr. MacColl

It has already proved necessary to abandon the revaluation due in 1968 because of the general shortage of valuers and the increasing commitments of the Valuation Office. It would be impossible to undertake the additional work involved in valuing agricultural land and buildings.
