§ 65. Mr. James Davidsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will introduce a minimum price scheme with Government support for fish sold in Scottish ports on the lines of the scheme operated by the Potato Marketing Board.
§ Mr. WillisNo. The promotion of a minimum prices scheme is a matter for the White Fish Authority.
As my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food announced on 2nd March, the Government accept the principle of a scheme but cannot promise a contribution towards its cost.
