80. Mr. Ian Lloyd

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what proposals she has to extend National Insurance to cover accidents involving injury or death which take place when employees or other insured persons are travelling to or from their work outside normal working hours.

The benefits of the general National Insurance Scheme are already available in these circumstances. If, however, the hon. Member has the Industrial Injuries Scheme in mind I have no such proposals for an extension of its cover.
