§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Minister of Public Building and Works whether he will make a statement about the number of prosecutions for offences against the Litter Act in the Royal Parks; and what steps are being taken to enlist the public's co-operation in keeping them tidy.
§ Mr. BoydenMy right hon. Friend has no record of any prosecutions over the last year or so. The police and park-keepers usually caution anyone they observe committing an offence. We are now arranging for proceedings to be instituted in the more flagrant cases. The public are encouraged to keep the Parks tidy by being provided with plenty of litter baskets and by the display of suitable notices.
