asked the Minister of Transport if she will make a statement on proposals made to her Department by the Port of London Authority on major developments and extensions to the Royal, Millwall, West India, and Tilbury Docks.

The following schemes have been submitted for authorisation under Section 9 of the Harbours Act 1964: —

  1. (1) Development of "B" shed, Royal Victoria Dock, for the specialised handling of frozen meat and other suitable packages. Cost £650,000. Authorised on 11th January, 1965.
  2. (2) Rebuilding of transit and warehousing accommodation at "M" shed, South West India Dock. Cost £900,000. Authorised on 11th March, 1965.
  3. (3) Construction of 7 deep water berths at Tilbury. Cost £10 million. Authorised on 6th December, 1965.
  4. (4)Re-development of Wood Wharves, West India Dock, to provide a ship berth, transit shed, offices and canteen facilities. Cost £935,000. Under consideration.
  5. (5) Construction of a new Grain Terminal at Tilbury. Cost £2.8 million. Under consideration.
