§ Sir Ian Orr-Ewingasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs why he referred the proposed increase in brewers' prices to the National Board for Prices and Incomes and did not refer a similar increase that was made by the state brewery in Carlisle.
§ Mr. AlbuThe reference to the National Board for Prices and Incomes covered the costs, prices and profits of the whole of the brewing industry, including the state brewery. The price increase made by the State brewery in November, 1965, was fully justified by increased costs. It took place more than a year after most private brewers had increased their prices.
