§ Mr. SwinglerIt is not the practice of the police to escort every abnormally wide load; the matter is left to the discretion of the Chief Constable of the Area concerned. No representations have been made by the police that the current period of notice is insufficient, but my right hon. Friend would be prepared to consider an increase if it were established that this was necessary.
