§ 69. Sir C. Taylorasked the Minister of Transport if, in view of the fact that it is not clear in law whether two endorsements of a driving licence ordered by a magistrate for the same offence count as one or two under the law which specifies a withdrawal of the driving licence after three endorsements, she will introduce amending legislation to clarify the position.
§ Mr. John MorrisOnly one endorsement is possible for one offence. If, however, the hon. Member is referring to the question of what constitutes the occasion of a conviction for totting-up purposes under Section 5(3) of the 1962 Road Traffic Act, my right hon. Friend will bear in mind the possibility of clarifying the position when the law is next revised.
