§ Mr. DiamondA number of representations have been made about the effect of the tax on delivery services generally. My right hon. Friend has replied that as the tax represents a very small proportion of retail turnover he does not believe it will have serious effects.
§ 48. Mr. Biffenasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will direct the Bank of England to clarify the extent to which banks may advance credit to finance the initial payment of the Selective Employment Tax.
