§ 53. Mr. Brooksasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what arrangements have been made for the large-scale evacuation of the urban population of this country in the event of the threat of a nuclear war.
§ Mr. MacCollA scheme was prepared in 1962 for the dispersal of about ten million people, mainly children under 18 and their mothers, from the most heavily populated areas in the country. The scheme is now being revised, in consultation with the local authority associations and transport organisations, in order to make it simpler and quicker.
