§ 4. Mr. Frank Taylorasked the Minister of Technology if he will state the policy of Her Majesty's Government on the development of nuclear propelled ships; and what further assistance the Government will give to this enterprise.
§ Mr. BennLast July my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade announced the Government's decision that the prospects of building a nuclear ship which would be economic to operate were too remote to justify the large Government expenditure necessary to build a prototype.
Nothing has happened since to change the Government's view and the A.E.A.'s programme of work remains as then outlined by my right hon. Friend.
