HC Deb 04 July 1966 vol 731 cc27-8W
Mr. Whitaker

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will make it a condition of the granting of development money in any part of the United Kingdom that the recipient company will not exercise any discrimination towards its employees of a religious or racial nature.

Mr. Jay

I do not think it would be appropriate to import this consideration into the provision of financial assistance under the Local Employment Acts 1960 and 1963 or under the legislation proposed in the Industrial Development Bill.
