§ Mr. George Thomas13,679 motor vehicles, including motor cycles, were recorded by the police as having been stolen in 1964. 6,915 were not recovered during the year.
The Metropolitan police issue large numbers of crime prevention leaflets advising motorists to fit anti-theft devices.
