HC Deb 25 January 1966 vol 723 c48W
Mr. Francis Noel-Baker

asked the Minister of Labour what facilities are provided by Her Majesty's Government to enable shop stewards and other trade unionists and members of management in British industries to study industrial relations and modern industrial practice in Scandinavia and in other parts of Europe, in view of the need for closer relations and co-operation between the United Kingdom and European countries.

Mr. Gunter

Parties of trade unionists and employers have recently visited Scandinavia and other European countries to study various aspects of industrial relations and modern industrial practice under programmes sponsored by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Similar visits are of course made on the direct initiative of trade unions and managements and the labour attachés at our embassies give any help required by arranging programmes and suggesting contacts.
