§ 7. Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs why compensation is being denied to citizens of the Channel Islands deported to Germany during the Second World War, notwithstanding the agreement between Her Majesty's Government and the Federal Republic of Germany on 9th June 1964.
§ Mr. George ThomsonPersons from the Channel Islands are eligible to receive compensation on the same terms as other United Kingdom nationals, that is to say, if they were detained in Concentration Camps or comparable institutions. A number have qualified. The conditions of eligibility are set out in the Notes for Guidance of which I have sent my hon. Friend a copy.
