§ Mr. Hamlingasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what provision his Department is making, in the light of the plan to raise the school-leaving age by 1970, for the education of children placed in special schools.
§ Mr. Denis HowellMy right hon. Friend does not propose to raise the compulsory school age for pupils in special schools, which is already 16; but he hopes that increasing numbers of children will either remain at special schools beyond this age or go on to various forms of further education.
