§ Mr. Joseph SlaterThe numbers of persons employed on the staff of the Post Office on these dates were 381,767 and 396,400 respectively. These figures include about 29,000 part-time staff counted as half each but exclude nearly 23,000 sub-postmasters employed on an agency basis.
