Rate Income (Per Head of Population)

Mr. Hamling

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will publish figures showing the local government rate charged per head of the population for England and Wales for each year since 1946.

The following figures show the total annual rate income for England and Wales divided by the relative population. Mainly because of changes from time to time in industrial and commercial rerating, the result cannot be taken as reflecting the trend of domestic rate bills.
