§ Sir R. Thompsonasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the refusals, inconsistent with the recommendations of the Monopolies Commission's Report on the Supply of Petrol, paragraph 428, item 2, by petrol suppliers not to enforce an agreement; what action, by legislation or otherwise, he will take to enforce the recommendations; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. DarlingI would refer the hon. Member to the statement on 10th February in reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Fife, West (Mr. William Hamilton). My right hon. Friend asked 43W the petrol suppliers on the same date to observe the Commission's recommendations, and I am not aware of any complaints that they have subsequently acted inconsistently with them. If the hon. Member has information to the contrary, my right hon. Friend would be glad to consider it.
