§ 71. Mr. Kenneth Lewisasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will seek to give 204W increased security of tenure to workers made redundant when they occupy houses owned by their companies and are given notice to quit.
§ Mr. MellishNo worker having exclusive possession of service accommodation can be evicted without an order from the court. If he holds the accommodation on a tenancy to which the Rent Acts apply and not on a licence, the court have power to make the order only if they are satisfied on certain statutory requirements. If the hon. Member has evidence of abuse of the system of service occupation I would be glad to have it.
