Number of Pupils for whom the School is designed Appropriate Teaching Area per Pupil Not more than 75 40 sq.ft. for each of the first 25 pupils and 23 sq.ft. per pupil thereafter. More than 75 but less than 120. 50 sq.ft. for each of the first 30 pupils and 21 sq.ft. per pupil thereafter. 120 or more 50 sq.ft. for each of the first 40 pupils and 17 sq.ft. per pupil thereafter. More than 480 As may be approved. In 1964, the national average of area per pupil was 41.5 sq.ft. and for the first 6 months of 1965 is 41.3 sq.ft.
