§ 82. Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what progress he has made in 1966 in Her Majesty's Government's policy of building bridges between the European Free Trade Association and the Common Market.
§ Mr. M. StewartAt their meeting at Copenhagen on 28th and 29th October the European Free Trade Association Ministerial Council reaffirmed its readiness to begin a dialogue between the European Free Trade Association and the168W European Economic Community, with a view to establishing closer relations between the two groups, and the Community was informed of this. The difficulties within the Community have until recently prevented it from responding to this initiative; in view of the agreement reached at Luxembourg on 29th January, we hope that the Community will soon be in a position to reply.
