§ Mr. HoyThe total cost of the period 1 payments on wheat was £2.3 million in 1963 and £3.3 million in 1964; the payments per cwt. were 4s. 3d. and 3s. 10.4d. respectively. The total payment due on period 1 deliveries in 1965 cannot be calculated until after the end of the cereal year but an advance payment of 1s. 0d. per cwt. has been made at a cost of £575,000.
