HC Deb 09 February 1966 vol 724 c84W
138. Mr. Driberg

asked the Minister of Transport whether she will instruct her expert advisers to study the design of the safety car proposed by the Republic Aviation Division of the Fairchild Hiller Corporation in the United States of America with a view to consulting British motor manufacturers about the possibility of incorporating in their cars the safety devices incorporated in that design, which would substantially reduce the number of deaths and injuries in road accidents.

Mr. Swingler

We have seen press reports about this proposed safety car and are obtaining further information about it.
