HC Deb 09 February 1966 vol 724 c83W
115. Mr. Longden

asked the Minister of Transport is she will now add to the Answers given by her predecessors on 6th May and 23rd December, 1964, to the hon. Member for South-West Hertfordshire on the position of a driver who pulls up in such a place as will not offend against any regulations or cause any obstruction because he feels it is unsafe to drive further.

Mr. John Morris

Yes. Under the provisions of the Road Safety Bill a person who has begun driving after drinking too much will be given a greater incentive to pull up, provided that the circumstances at the time make it quite clear that there is no likelihood of his driving again until he is fit to do so.
