Durham Prison (Chief Constable's Report)

Mr. Park

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report by the Chief Constable of Durham County on the inquiries he has made into the threat of a mass attack on Durham Prison involving the use of tanks, bombs and limited atomic weapons.

The Chief Constable has sent me a report. He has explained that it was not his intention to do more than indicate that any attempt to release certain prisoners by force from Durham Prison might have included the use of military weapons.
