HC Deb 09 February 1966 vol 724 cc106-7W
171. Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many firms went into voluntary or compulsory liquidation in 1965; how many employees were involved; what was the total owing to creditors; and how these figures compare with the previous year.

Mr. Darling

381 voluntary and 29 compulsory liquidations of companies registered in Scotland were begun in 1965. The comparable figures for 1964 are 300 and 14, respectively. I regret that figures for the amounts owed to creditors and the number of employees involved are not available.
