§ 87. Captain W. Elliotasked the Minister of Transport if she will take steps to ban or limit the entry of commuter car traffic into central London.
§ Mrs. CastleCommuter car traffic is only one aspect of the problem. It needs to be dealt with in the context of an integrated policy to improve London traffic and transport as a whole. I am expecting soon a report from the G.L.C., the responsible traffic authority on comprehensive measures which might be taken, including new parking policies and ways of enabling public transport to give a more attractive and efficient service.
