HC Deb 09 February 1966 vol 724 c80W
87. Captain W. Elliot

asked the Minister of Transport if she will take steps to ban or limit the entry of commuter car traffic into central London.

Mrs. Castle

Commuter car traffic is only one aspect of the problem. It needs to be dealt with in the context of an integrated policy to improve London traffic and transport as a whole. I am expecting soon a report from the G.L.C., the responsible traffic authority on comprehensive measures which might be taken, including new parking policies and ways of enabling public transport to give a more attractive and efficient service.
