§ Mr. Howeasked the Minister of Labour how many industrial tribunals under the Industrial Training and Redundancy Payments Acts have been appointed; who are the members of such tribunals; and where and how often they have sat.
§ Mr. ThorntonIndustrial Tribunals are appointed to sit as need arises. Each tribunal consists of a legally qualified chairman and two members, drawn from national panels appointed in accordance with the Industrial Tribunals Regulations, 1965, after consultation, in the case of the members, with the two sides of industry. By the end of January the tribunals had held sittings totalling 125 days, in London and 13 other centres.
