HC Deb 02 February 1966 vol 723 c220W
57. Captain W. Elliot

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make arrangements for Members of Parliament to be briefed by the Admiralty Board on naval strategy and the material needs of the Royal Navy for the tasks for which it is responsible, thus helping to ensure a constructive and informed debate on the Navy Estimates.

Mr. Mayhew

My hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State and I are always glad to discuss with hon. Members any issues they want to raise with us, and we arrange a wide programme of visits to the Fleet. In addition, the Statement on Defence this year will be fuller than usual.
