HC Deb 02 February 1966 vol 723 c243W
126. Mr. T. G. D. Galbraith

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the total amount paid in Government subsidy and in local authority subsidy, respectively, from the rates for housing purposes in Scotland over the last five years; and what he expects the total Government subsidy, assuming the Housing (Financial Provisions) (Scotland) Bill becomes law, will be over the next five years.

Mr. Ross

For the financial years 1961–62 to 1965–66 Exchequer housing subsidies to local authorities will total about £77 million and rate-fund contributions to their housing revenue accounts about £92 million. Exchequer subsidies under the Bill are expected to total about £115 million in the next five years.
