Mr. A. Royle

asked the Minister of Aviation what is the present total employed in the aircraft industry by comparison with the totals one year, six months and one month ago, divided so as to show the percentage effect on design personnel at the principal centres of aircraft and engine design.

Mr. Mulley

Total employment in the aircraft industry—including Northern Ireland—in December, 1964, June, 1965, October, 1965, and November, 1965, was 270,350; 259,025; 258,120 and 258,750, respectively.
