§ Sir S. Summersasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government when he will take steps to lift the present ban placed upon local authorities precluding them from the making-up of private streets.
§ Mr. MellishMy right hon. Friend is prepared to sanction a loan for this purpose where the local authority can show that there are very special reasons for doing the work now. It is still necessary to keep public expenditure down so far as we possibly can.
