§ Mr. MacCollThe total loan debt of local authorities in England and Wales at 31st March, 1965, which is the latest date for which figures are available, is estimated to be£8,535 millions. Approximately 12 per cent. of this was money held on seven-day call. Figures are not available to show the proportion of seven-day call money due from local authorities to overseas investors.
