HC Deb 21 December 1966 vol 738 cc380-1W
Mr. Richard Wainwright

asked the Minister of Health to what extent the new Huddersfield Royal Infirmary is now staffed in relation to the authorised establishment for qualified medical staff, qualified nursing staff and all other employees, respectively; and by what date he expects the hospital to have at least 90 per cent. of the required staff.

Mr. K. Robinson

The numbers now in post, and the Hospital Management Committee's assessment of need when the hospital is in full operation, are respectively, medical staff 57, 62; nursing staff (all grades) 335, 535; other staff 631, 833.

This 508 bed hospital is being brought into use in stages and bed occupancy has now reached about 60 per cent. of capacity. The Hospital Management Committee hope the hospital will be fully operational and fully staffed within the next six months.
