HC Deb 21 December 1966 vol 738 c352W
Mrs. McKay

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many complaints have been received by the police in the Clapham constituency about fraudulent house agents who have absconded after receiving moneys in respect of deposits for house purchase; what action the police have taken to apprehend such house agents, and with what success; and what action is being taken to warn the public of the dangers of thus being defrauded.

Mr. Taverne

No complaints of this nature have been received.

On the last part of the Question, I understand that advice on this subject is given in a pamphlet issued by the Consumer Council.
