Mr. Albert Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what amount of grant has been made to Gibraltar during the past three years; what revenue he receives by way of taxation from residents of Gibraltar; and if he will give the rate of tax now in force in Gibraltar.

The revenue raised by Gibraltar taxation accrues to the Government of Gibraltar and not to the British Government. During the last three years Gibraltar Government revenues from all sources have amounted to

The standard rate of Income Tax in Gibraltar at present is 5s. in the £ for individuals and 3s. 9d. in the £ for companies and bodies of persons.
