§ Mr. Juddasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what action Great Britain will support at the United Nations under Article 50 of the United Nations Charter to alleviate economic hardship suffered by Botswana and other developing countries as the result of mandatory sanctions against Rhodesia.
§ Mrs. WhiteIt is for the Government of Botswana or any other State to consider whether to consult the Security Council under Article 50. As far as we are aware, Botswana has not yet availed itself of this right and the question is therefore hypothetical at present.
