§ 53. Mr. Francis Noel-Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will draw to the attention of the Governments of the Warsaw Pact Powers and of other Eastern European countries the recent resolutions unanimously passed by the Conference of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Parliamentarians calling for preliminary discussions with members of East European Assemblies; and if he will make a statement on recent Government moves for improved relations between East and West Europe.
§ Mr. PadleyHer Majesty's Government welcome any move to improve East-West relations and will follow with interest the initiative which the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Parliamentarians Conference wish to take in this matter. On the second part of the question, my right hon. Friend gave an account of Her Majesty's Government's policies for improving East-West relations during the foreign affairs debate on 6th December.
