HC Deb 13 December 1966 vol 738 c52W
Mr. Marten

asked the Minister of Aviation whether he is now in a position to make a further statement about British space activities.

Mr. Mulley

In addition to our commitments to E.L.D.O. and E.S.R.O., we are proceeding with a national programme of satellite technology based on the Black Arrow Launcher.

We have also agreed, as announced by my right hon. Friend the Postmaster-General on 7th December, to co-operate in a preliminary study and design project, which is being initiated by C.E.T.S. and undertaken by E.S.R.O. of an experimental communications satellite.—[Vol. 737, c. 1334–5.]
