§ 111. Mr. Chapmanasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will issue an instruction to all Departments that there shall be no colour discrimination in employment and in recruitment, particularly among school-leavers and, further, that attempts should be made by Departments in special contact with the public to give a lead to private commerce and distribution in this matter.
§ Mr. DiamondIt is Government policy to employ the most suitable candidates for all posts in the Civil Service irrespective of colour. No further instructions or lead to the public are, therefore, needed.
